Day 87: Tu-Tu Time

Since I couldn't talk Maya into wearing her tu-tu as part of her Halloween costume, I decided to just take some pictures of her wearing it. We had this great idea for her to be a butterfly, but as soon as she saw Snow White's dress all was forgotten.
Firemen came to Maya's class to talk about Halloween safety today and left fake helmets for the kids. Mitchell looks good as a fireman! Too bad he already has a monkey costume for Sunday.

Day 85: School Cribs

The local news filmed a story at our school today. They showcase different schools and chose our school for their "School Cribs" story. The news reporter is Natasha Collins. I tried to get some good pictures, but she kept moving and I am far from a master photographer. It was a neat experience.
Maya got to play with Emily and Addison tonight. She was given gum when she was over their house.
The girls walked her home and wanted to see Mitchell for a little bit. Emily is really good at holding babies.

Day 84: My Future Model

Long gone are the days of Maya not wanting to get her picture taken. Now she gets in all these crazy poses and doesn't want me to put the camera away. I asked her today who taught her all these "model poses." She said "daddy did."

And now time for the scary faces, in honor of Halloween of course...

Day 83: Pumpkins!

We attempted a trip to a pumpkin patch today, but it was a fail. I looked online for a place to go and where we ended up seemed like a joke of a farm. An hour an a half later we realized the pumpkin patch we were looking for was really 40 minutes from home and it was already 3:00 on a Sunday. So we postponed our trip to next weekend and promised Maya grocery store pumpkins. These are the pumpkins we bought at Meijer. Look for lots of Halloween themed posts this week!

Day 82: Medicine Woman

Maya has always loved medicine. We have never had trouble getting her to open like a little birdy and take her medicine. She is on antibiotic right now for the strep throat she had last week. I had to capture the pleasure she gets from taking her medicine on camera. She is responsible enough now that we can just fill up the dropper for her and she takes it herself.

Now that I have a moment to type some things, I need to brag about this amazing little boy we have. He is a completely different baby than he was a month ago. He continues to surprise me everyday. He was so happy this morning that I actually said "who is this baby?" Maya, not comprehending the sarcasm, said "Mommy, that's Mitchell." He is laughing and cooing now, which is so much fun. He cracks himself up looking at himself in the mirror. His awake time is finally filled with smiles and laughter, instead of screaming and a stressed out mommy overfeeding her baby. We ran errands all day today and Mitchell didn't cry at all. He actually stayed awake a lot of the time and enjoyed being out and about.

Day 80: High Fashion

This is a three year old's idea of looking good!
And 2 three year olds together...

I am enjoying my fall break today with a visit to Cincinnati. Tomorrow we get to meet baby Jack Saylor! I haven't actually typed in a while. I am just so tired by the time I upload pictures. I have been going to bed right after Mitchell goes to bed. Last night was a definite milestone, though. Mitchell went to bed at 8:30 and slept until 5:30. When he woke up, he ate 2 oz and went back down until 9. I just wish I could have slept that whole time instead of being up with Maya whining all night about her leg hurting. Tonight we are at Mimi and Papa's house without a swing, hopefully Mitchell will still be able to sleep.
