Snugglin' Siblings

I really have to give Maya credit for being an amazing big sister. She takes such wonderful care of her brother. She doesn't always share, but does always make sure Mitchell is safe and tries to calm him down when he is upset. Mitchell was very fussy and tired tonight while I made dinner. Maya tried to help calm him down by snuggling with him for a bit. She even said that this was the best part of her day. What a sweetheart!
Dinner tonight was Oven-Fried Spicy Chicken (5 points) and Garlic Mashed Potatoes (2 points):

Hamburger and Fries

I got back to cooking tonight, but dinner did not go as planned. First, the buns I bought last week had already started to mold, so we had to use toast as a bun. Then, the meat I bought at Meijer was horrible. I thought I would give it a try since Laura's Lean Beef is only sold at Kroger and is more expensive. Unfortunately, Meijer's lean meat doesn't hold together and really doesn't taste anywhere near as good as Laura's. The burger tonight was about 7 points and the fries are 4 points.Grade:

Mitchell was not a happy camper when he woke up from a late afternoon nap. This is what he did the whole time I was making dinner.

Sundaes on a Saturday

We had such a fun day today! Mary Beth brought the kids over and they all got to play and have a blast. We walked to the neighborhood playground, went swimming at the pool, ordered pizza for dinner, and topped it all off with ice cream sundaes!

Did That really Just Happen?

I was involved in a little car accident Friday morning. I was on my way home from the BMV and can't believe what happened. I saw a light turn red and started to slow down. The car in front of me didn't slow down fast enough and rear-ended the mini-van in front of her. After that she put her car in reverse and then backed into me! I could not believe my eyes! Luckily no one was hurt and my car did not even have any damage. Her car was a little beat up and had some marks on her bumper from where it hit my license plate. Could have been a lot worse! It's quite the story to tell.

This dish is just 7 points and pretty feeling. I have made it before and is my favorite so far.

First Day Of School

Today was Maya's first day of Pre-kindergarten. She has to wear a uniform to school Monday-Thursday. Her uniform is a navy, white or red polo shirt with khaki or navy pants, shorts, or skirt. She wasn't too happy when I first told her about it. But now that she got some new clothes she is adjusting.
Mitchell entertained himself a little while I cooked dinner tonight. He found the cookie cutters.
He doesn't like being fed anymore. He wants to feed himself everything. He has to learn eventually. It will just be messy getting there.

I started Weight Watchers over the weekend. I think I might start including a food portion to the blog. I will include a picture of dinner and Arthur and I will both give it a grade on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest. Here is what I made for dinner - Italian Sausage and Pepper Pasta:
This is 1 serving = 7 points (not including bread)
It was pretty filling, but not as delicious as I had anticipated. Next time I will omit the canned tomatoes.

Leg Cramps

Either Maya gets the worst growing pains imaginable or she has zero tolerance for pain. This is Maya's typical reaction to leg cramps. She used to get them a lot more often, and then they kind of stopped. Tonight was the first time she got them in the new house and it wasn't pretty.

"Bye"

Mitchell added a new word to his now four word vocabulary. In addition to "mama," "dada," and "no," now he says "bye."When I picked him up from school his teacher told me that he said "bye" today. I was excited, but sad that I hadn't heard it. Then later at home I got to hear him say it. He even waved when he said it. It was pretty cool.
Not sure what is so special about this stamp, but she wanted me to take her picture.

Apple Corer

Maya wanted an apple so I told her I needed her help. I opened up the cabinet and asked to get out the "thing to cut the apple with." She pulled out the strainer! It was pretty funny, she was standing there saying "how do you cut the apple with this?" I laughed and pointed to the corer and she realized her mistake.

Girls' Day

The girls had so much fun playing together today. They made lots of "art."

Peyton's silly faces...

AHHH...where did my backseat go?!?!?!

Fashionista

Little Miss Fashionista has to change her outfit a minimum of 3 times per day. I don't know why she insists on wearing her capris like this though - all tight and stretched out as long as they will go. She throws a fit and refuses to wear them when I try to give them a little slack and make them look better. Oh and why was she home today to try on several different outfits? Because she has pink eye. Yes, that's right, another week = another round of illnesses. We were eating breakfast and just about to walk out the door when I spotted Maya's bright red eye. So much for working Monday and Tuesday this week. I'm going to lose my mind if we have to deal with a sickness every week!

Riding The Train

Thank you to all my loyal followers who looked at my blog and took an interest in the Bradleys over the past year. I finally decided what I'm going to do with my blog. I am going to do a "6 on 6" and "9 on 9" every month for the monthly milestone page. I am also going to post as often as I take good pictures. Sometimes there is really nothing to take a picture of and those are nights I won't post. I will post as much as I can. I'm not going to number the days anymore either since I made it to my 365. I will just title the post whatever exciting thing the pictures resemble.

Here is Mitchell having a blast on his new train he got for his birthday. He got on it and immediately started pushing the power button to go. The challenge is keeping Maya off of it! Mitchell even pushes it around the house with Maya sitting on it and steering.

Beautiful picture Maya drew with Mitchell's new crayons.

Day 365: And He's Off

So my "roadblock" of boxes didn't keep him from climbing the steps.

He went all the way to the top tonight.
Even after I put the gate up, he just pulled it down!
